Following the bizarre ending of SummerSlam’s
main event on Sunday, Aug. 21 in Brooklyn, the only thing which was
clear was that Randy Orton had been busted wide open by Brock Lesnar’s
ground-and-pound elbows.
WWE has issued on update on the Viper’s condition:
Randy Orton has received 10 staples to close a laceration on his forehead following the brutal assault by Brock Lesnar that resulted in a TKO at SummerSlam.
There’s a lot of speculation
about what was planned and what wasn’t in the final angle of a four-plus
hour show, the cut and blood loss from Orton made the whole thing
eerily real. No word yet on if any further damage, such as a concussion,
was suffered by the 12-time World champ, but we’ll keep you posted.
We’ll also be on the lookout for real or kayfabe news of punishment for Lesnar, since you have to assume one or both is coming.
